Perhaps you have a bucket list a few feet long where you wrote down all the places you dream to go and haven’t already been to. Or maybe you want to travel because you love to,but just aren’t sure about where to go.
Regardless of which of these two categories fits your current state of travel curiosity, you’ll eventually need to narrow down your choices and make a solid decision about where to go.
First you need to adjust your destination to your current life state: is it a bachelor vacation to party till you drop; are you currently a dad of 3 with wife and pets; are you just traveling with your better half and looking for a romantic spot?
Having that sorted out, think about what you would like to do: you’re a beach freak and just feel like laying under the sun all day long; you’re a countryside lover and just adore hearing the sound of birds and water creeks; you’re looking for adventure; you really want to get your cultural agenda up to date? perhaps you want to make a shopping spree? or better yet you want a place where you can do all of the above?
Planning where to go might be simpler than you think. It really is a question of knowing exactly how you’ll go and what you sincerely want (and also need!) to do. So you really have to get your list priorities written down, right?
To help you out why not check a few “Best of” lists created by authoritative sources. They can provide a great start for your destination research. These lists are particularly popular at the end and beginning of the year and include everything from the best eco-destinations and beach resorts to the best train rides and places to sample local food.
And even if all these choice tips fail, you can always spin the globe and go where your finger points at when it stops, open to a random page in the atlas or check out a website that helps inspire travel.
Get your bags done. And have a Snug time!
