A perfect way to start your New Year?
If you’re a chocolate lover, then this is indeed for YOU!
Chocolate, to begin with, is beneficial for your health if, of course, eaten moderately. Especially dark chocolate, which is very nutritious, it is a powerful source of anti-oxidants and it even might help prevent heart diseases. Your overall wellbeing will be kept high and your mood… at its best.
Now winter’s here. And winter in a mug surely is hot cocoa, don’t you agree?
Right down a very simple wonderful recipe of this favorite global chocolate drink to warm your hearts. You can chose any milk you wish (cow, almonds, rice or soy) and instead of sugar you can add honey or maple syrup if you prefer (or sweeteners in case you are on a diet).
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1-2 tablespoons of sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup of milk or cream
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Whisk together the cocoa, the sugar, the salt and about 2 tablespoons of milk in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until cocoa and sugar are dissolved. Whisk in the rest of the milk and heat it over medium heat, whisking occasionally, until it is hot. Stir in the vanilla and serve. If you like it frothy, blend it in the blender.

Pour your chocolate into a mug. Top it off with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles if you just feel up to it. And then think (just think) about drinking it while it cools down a little bit.
Even better: grab your mug. Get into bed. Drink it slowly…
And feel… SNUG!
