In order to keep as many toxins out of our home and off of our bodies, you should try to make as many homemade personal care items as possible.
Today our DIY beauty care recipe we are going to share with you is a Homemade sugar scrub.
It’s so easy to make sugar scrubs at home, you just won’t believe it! You get all the benefits of natural, fresh, chemical-free ingredients for a fraction of the price of equivalent store-bought equivalents.
You also have the ease and flexibility of including and combining essential and base oils and other ingredients that are readily available in your kitchen and that suit your mood that day.
So, all you need is 1 cup of traditional white or brown sugar and 1/4 cup of oil of your choice (olive, almond or coconut). You just need to remember that it is 80% sugar to 20% oil.
As the Infographic illustrates, DIY scrubs are fast and easy to make, using as few as three ingredients!
The “base” is always the same (as referred above). To that you can add a few drops of a wide array of essential oils (orange, peppermint, lavender, cucumber …) and/or a small amount of vanilla extract and honey.
The possibilities are endless but this Infographic provides four simple recipes to exfoliate, invigorate and even soothe skin:
